At Town and Country Animal Hospital, we perform a range of general and soft tissue surgeries for both cats and dogs—always with a focus on safety, comfort, and compassionate care. Whether it’s a routine procedure or a complex operation, our skilled veterinary team is here to help your pet heal with confidence and support every step of the way.
From spay/neuter to cystotomy
Gentle & experienced
care
Surgical services include spays and neuters, mass removals, wound repairs, splenectomies, cystotomies, GI surgeries, and more. We approach every procedure with precision and prayerful care—because your pet’s well-being is our priority.
Before surgery, your pet will receive a full health evaluation, including pre-anesthetic testing to ensure they are ready for the procedure. We’ll take time to explain what the surgery involves, answer your questions, and make sure you feel at ease with the process.
Our surgical team is experienced in a variety of soft tissue procedures, including spays/neuters, laceration repairs, mass excisions, gastrointestinal surgeries (such as gastrostomies and enterotomies), hematoma treatment, splenectomies, and investigative laparotomies. Throughout the operation, your pet is carefully monitored by our trained staff using advanced equipment.
After surgery, we’ll guide you through recovery instructions and provide any medications needed for pain relief and healing. We believe recovery doesn’t end at discharge—it continues with ongoing support from our team to ensure your pet is healing well and returning to their normal, happy self.
We perform general and elective soft tissue surgeries, including spay/neuter, wound repairs, mass removals, cystotomies, splenectomies, hematoma treatment, and GI procedures like enterotomies and gastrostomies.
While there are always risks with anesthesia, we conduct pre-anesthetic testing and tailor the anesthetic plan to your pet’s age, breed, and health status. We also monitor them closely from start to finish.
We’ll provide written and verbal aftercare instructions, along with any medications your pet may need. Our team is always available to answer questions or address concerns during recovery.
Most surgeries involve sutures and will require an e-collar (cone) to prevent licking or chewing. We’ll go over wound care and let you know when your pet can return to normal activity.
Most pets go home the same day, once they’ve recovered from anesthesia. We’ll keep them for observation and only discharge them when they’re stable and ready for home care.
At Town and Country Animal Hospital, we understand how important your pets are—they’re your companions, protectors, and part of your story. That’s why we treat every patient with the same care and compassion we’d want for our own pets.
As a compassion-based veterinary clinic in East Texas, we approach pet care with integrity and kindness. Our team stays up to date with the latest veterinary techniques while delivering a personalized and gentle experience for both pets and their people.

She explains everything in a way that is easy to understand. I am so happyto have her as a veterinarian.Posted on laura HallTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I went to Town and Country for the first time yesterday. Had a great experience and the price of treatment was extremely pocket book friendly compared to other vets. Chris was very caring and understanding. Dr. Prior seemed really knowledgeable and I did not catch the other tech’s name but she has some magic when it comes to cutting little dogs’ nails. Will definitely be back and recommend to anyone looking for a vet near Henderson. One last thing, I was only in town for one day and they managed to get me in. I am so thankful for them.Posted on Shannon JordanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
